Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026  ·  Applies to the CATalyst app and website

The short version

By using CATalyst, you agree to these terms. We provide a CAT exam prep tool built from real past-exam questions; you use it to practice, not to guarantee a specific score. Payment terms are covered fully in our Refund Policy; data handling is covered in our Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, starting a free trial, or using CATalyst in any way, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What CATalyst is

CATalyst is a CAT (Common Admission Test) exam preparation tool. It provides practice questions drawn from real past CAT papers and original questions built to match real exam patterns, an error-tracking system ("Fix Mode"), full-length mocks, and related study features. It is an independent study tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to IIM CAT, the CAT exam conducting body, or any coaching institute.

3. Your account

4. Free trial & payment

New accounts get a free trial with full access, no card required. After the trial, continued access to Practice and Error Log requires payment. Full pricing, billing, and refund terms are in our Refund Policy — that document governs payment disputes, not this one. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Content & intellectual property

Past CAT exam questions used on CATalyst are real, publicly-administered exam questions used for educational practice purposes. Original questions, worked solutions, the "Fix Mode" system, mock assembly, and all other CATalyst-built material are our intellectual property. You may use them for your own personal exam preparation — not to republish, resell, or redistribute.

7. No guaranteed outcomes

CATalyst is a practice tool. We don't guarantee any specific exam score, percentile, or admission outcome. Your results depend on your own effort, existing preparation, and exam-day performance — not on anything we can promise.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep CATalyst available and working correctly, but like any software product, occasional downtime, bugs, or maintenance windows can happen. We're not liable for temporary unavailability. If a real issue affects your access to something you paid for, contact us — see our Refund Policy for how that's handled.

9. Changes to the service

We may update, add, or remove features over time as the product improves. If a change meaningfully reduces what a paid plan includes, we'll communicate it directly rather than silently changing what you paid for.

10. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of CATalyst after a change means you're okay with the update.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be handled under Indian jurisdiction.

12. Questions

This policy is intentionally written in plain language, not legal boilerplate. If anything is unclear, email us directly — you'll reach a real person.
